Sydney Travel Guide

Sydney Travel GuideWhen coming to Sydney, the most usual way of traveling is of course by plane as Australia is quite a remote country. When coming it from the air you will most likely land on the Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport which is the largest and the busiest airport in whole of Australia. This big airport has flights that connect Sydney to all the main points throughout the world and you will find a flight to here from nearly anywhere.

If you are coming by car from the other parts of Australia you are probably in for a full day of driving. Traveling by bus is also possible as coach companies connect Sydney to all of the big cities in Australia and it is usually cheaper than going by train. If you are still intent on riding a train you can do so from most of the major cities but you will have to be ready to pay somewhat more than you would if you took a bus drive.

Another option would be to arrive by boat as Sydney is one big harbor and lots of passenger ships dock there every day. As for going around the city there are lots of options to explore. If you arrived by plane you will first have to find a way to go to the city itself. From there you can go on a train that will take you those 9km to the Sydney downtown or you can take a mini bus or a public bus that will also lead you to any of the main points in the city. Taxi is another option, or you can rent a vehicle right there at the airport.

As for going around the city, having a car to drive around might be actually the slowest option as it will be really hard to fight your way through the traffic jams. Taxi is usually a more convenient way as it is very easy to get one and they are the only option you can have at night when buses and trains stop operating until morning. Public transport is consisted of a big train network, ferries and buses and one light rail line as well as one monorail that is mostly aimed at tourists as it is great for sightseeing. You can get tickets designed for one ride or more of them so it is a really good way for you to move around.
